User Assessment Checklist
1. Project Title: _____________________
2. Architecture (Readiness) Review Date requested: ____________________
(see <http://www.xxxxx.NetImprove/Calendar> for available dates.)
Second date requested: _____________________________
(Note: Same date as SLA Test Results date).
3. Is a User Questionnaire necessary?
Here's some areas to consider:
Yes |
No |
Description of your Project: My project |
| required SLA testing for performance variables that are not completely transparent to users. | ||
| generated a lot of comments among the user population, good and/or bad. | ||
| was designed to improve user functionality or user performance or in some way help Cisco IS network users in their job. |
If you answered "Yes" to any of the above questions, it appears likely that you should create and distribute a User Questionnaire, to attempt to quantify the actual impact of your project on Cisco's end users. If you still believe that a User Questionnaire is not necessary, be sure to reference in your explanation any item marked "Yes" above. Point out that DESPITE that feature, you believe that a questionnaire is unnecessary, and explain why.
4. Description of Questionnaire and User Population
A: Describe who the questionnaire was sent out to.
(1) How many people responded to the questionnaire?
(2) What groups were sent the questionnaire?
(3) How many questionnaires were sent out?
B: Attach the questionnaire here.
5. Awareness of Network Improvement
A: How many of those queried were aware that a network improvement took place?
B: How did they know?
(1) Announcement before, during, or just after deployment
(2) Perceptible problems during or just after deployment
(3) Perceptible improvements during or just after deployment
6. Problems with Deployment
(Note that is not meant to measure the actual problems with deployment; just to measure how many problems were visible to the end user population.)
A: How many people noticed problems that occurred as a result of the Network Improvement project?
B: Divide the problems that were noticed into categories, and list the counts of the number of people who noticed problems in these categories, and the percentage of the questionnaire population who mentioned it.
(e.g., assuming a sample size of 50 people who responded to the questionnaire:
Slower Response Time: 7 people, 14% of population.
Network Downtime: 13 people, 26% of population.
Unable to reach mail server on occasion: 22 people, 44% of population.)
6. Importance of and Impact of Network Improvement
(Again, note that is not meant to measure the actual network improvement; just to measure how visible this improvement is to the end user population.)
A: How many people noticed service quality improvements that occurred as a result of the Network Improvement project?
B: Divide the service quality improvements that were noticed into categories, and list the counts of the number of people who noticed problems in these categories, and the percentage of the questionnaire population who mentioned it.
(e.g.,
(1) Better Response Time: 11 people, 22% of population.
(2) Better File Throughput: 14 people, 28% of population.
(3) E-Mail interface improved: 41 people, 82% of population.)
C: For each of these service quality improvement categories, list the average scores given by users for (1) how important an improvement in this area is to them, and (2) how large an improvement was made in this area.
(e.g.
(1) File throughput improved; Improvement in this area is considered very important (8 on a scale of 10); however, user assessment of overall throughput as a result of this Project has improved only slightly (4 on a scale of 10).
(2) E-mail ease of use has improved; Improvement in this area is considered only slightly important (3 on a scale of 10); however, overall e-mail ease of use as a result of this Project has improved tremendously (10 on a scale of 10).
7. Other Comments
A: List any other significant user comments regarding the Network Improvement Project.
B: List any other significant user comments regarding Cisco IS Networking services in general.
8. Responsibility:
